Essential improvements
Patches
- Patch v1.3 updates the game to the latest version.
- Although the Steam version says v1.2 in the main menu, it is different from the retail v1.2 patch and has proper widescreen resolution support and some other changes compared to v1.3, updating the Steam version from its default v1.2 to v1.3 is not recommended.[citation needed][3]

Apart from resolution, I don't know what differences there are between 1.3 and 1.2 aside from "new guns" (They are in the files, they don't get used), PhysX support (Doesn't work anymore), and some new vfx (The blood stains were made comically large, and the concrete fx are now brown like dirt)." - Steam Community
