DualShock prompts

Game does already feature button graphics for PS4 and PS Vita, but never uses them on PC.
All the games assets are inside single .wad file, making it harder to replace the file.
Replace button graphics[2]
  1. Download latest version of Hotline Miami WAD Explorer.
  2. Open <path-to-game>\content\blob_data_desktop.wad.
  3. From list, search for buttonsps4.anb and extract it either from top menu or with Ctrl+E.
  4. Right above it on list should be buttons.anb. Highlight it, replace (top menu or Ctrl+R and select extracted buttonsps4.anb.
  5. Save the file and you should have *.patchwad file.
  6. Select merge patch option or press Ctrl+M to open merge window.
  7. Select original *.wad and saved *.patchwad files and select merge.
    • Program will prompt about backing up, which is advisable at this point if you haven't done so manually before this step.
  8. Close the program and start up the game.

Notes

To get Vita prompts (grayscale) use file buttonspsv.anb.
