The GamersGate is a video game digital distribution service and storefront operated by GamersGate AB.

The storefront primary distributes games and activation keys. For games that doesn't sold as activation keys, users are requires to use GamersGate Downloader to download the purchased games, even for games that were sold as DRM-free (see Install without internet access).[1][2] Publishers are free to use either Sony SecuROM or 3rd-party DRM.[3]

Similar to Steam, games and activation keys sold through the storefront are region-locked to specific country/region where they were purchased. Do note that acquisition methods for a game can be changed by the publisher after the user had already purchased the game, as it had happened where some game downloads were replaced with Steam keys.[4] Multiple Games are also region-locked for purchase in Latin America.

  2. Wait for the installer to start.
  3. With the installer open, make a copy of GamersGate temporary files.
