Issues fixed
Crashing at launch (Retail)
- This fix is no longer needed on steam version, has been officially fixed with the February 2021 patch.[2]
The game will crash upon launch on a PC configuration with more than 4 Cores (excluding virtual cores, which would actually be 10 total cores)
|
- Download this file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m8ewe5w8slf3zuv/EM2_FIX.zip
- Extract the archive.
- Copy "dinput8.dll" and paste it into the game directory: Normal directory for the Steam version = "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Disney Epic Mickey 2"
Notes
- Roughly explained, this file tricks the game telling it that the system has 4 cores, while it actually has more. The game itself does not seem to behave badly on a setup with many cores, it's just about a core count check.

Cutscene(s) freezing
- The game may freeze upon entering Mean Street North or any other area that starts with a cutscene.
Steam Overlay method
|
Opening the Steam Overlay during the cutscene(s) with ⇧ Shift+Tab ↹.
Notes
- Not guaranteed to work.
|
Disabling cutscene(s)
|
- Right-click the game in your Steam library.
- Click "Manage", then click "Browse local files".
- In the folder that pops up (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Disney Epic Mickey 2, or something similar), create a file called ConfigOverride.ini.
- Write in the following line, then save and launch the game:
SkipIGCs=true
Notes
- To reactivate the cutscenes, delete or rename ConfigOverride.ini and restart the game.
- Safe method.
