Temporary switch to desktop or black screen when loading

Invisible War temporarily shows the desktop or a black screen prior to the loading screen. The game will still work normally but the transition can be annoying. To fix this do the following:

Windows Vista and 7: open the compatibility settings for dx2.exe and set Disable Desktop Composition.
Windows 8: Desktop Composition cannot be disabled; there is currently no other known fix.

Desktop Composition can be disabled in Windows 8 by downloading the Process Explorer from www.sysinterals.com. Run the Process Explorer, right click on the winlogon.exe process and click Suspend. Then, kill DWM.exe.

Warning: do NOT suspend DWM.exe by mistake, or you will be effectively locked out and need to reboot (explanation: it processes all input from mouse/keyboard, and winlogon.exe will not detect it should be restarted if it's suspended, nor will it release input to be used in non-DWM mode).

Game only shows black screen

If Google Chrome is running in the background, the game will not load and only show a black screen after loading a game. To fix it you need to manually kill chrome.exe using the Task Manager.
