Version 1.2 has a nocd command line option built in.

I don't know whether this should be added in case anyone wants to play the version 1.2 of the disc version unmodded. I found this while poking around in the DX2Main.exe file since I couldn't get 1.2 to work on Windows 10.

DX2Main.exe will not start on its own and tells you to run DX2.exe. I assume DX2.exe is the protected executable. However, if you start DX2Main.exe with the command line switch "-NoIMeanItReally", it launches and seems to run just fine, bypassing the disc check and (now possibly non-functional) copy protection.

I should probably note that when I tested it, it worked properly from a shortcut or the run option, but would crash when launched from a command prompt. That might be something specific to my system however.

"-NoIMeanItReally"

Is this an actual parameter??

Silanda (talkcontribs)

Yep! I guess the developers wanted a way of launching the main executable directly, so added a command line option that bypassed the check in DX2Main.exe that it had been launched from DX2.exe.

I found it because I was trying to disable the check and noticed that there was a already a command line switch that did.

dege.freeweb.hu is down does anyone have a mirror for dgvoodoo?

37.195.157.117 (talkcontribs)

Oops, my bad. Turns out it was HTTPS Everywhere's fault.

Gave me a heart attack there. I have copies of multiple versions if that ever happens tho, so just ask if it ever comes to that.

Can't find any way to make in-game MSAA work with Visible Upgrade

Tried all options imaginable but can't make in-game MSAA work with Visible Upgrade under Win10 1903 on an RTX 2080. Forcing it through drivers doesn't work either, with or without bloom. Thus the only AA options readily available even with Visible Upgrade are DSR or driver level FXAA. Reshade's SMAA injection is likely possible too albeit my game crashed with it - some injector conflict possibly. Any ideas? Should this be mentioned on the game's page?

Just tested this on Win7. It appears that after installing the mod you have to manually edit the config file:
C:\Users\[UserName]\Documents\Deus Ex - Invisible War\Options\Options.ini
Under [VideoOptions] set the MultiSampling= value to your liking.
In any case, using the in-game option doesn't seem to noticeably improve its visual quality (due to how UE2 handles antialiasing). I've had much better results with forced adaptive AA (plus AF), which on my end works flawlessly.

Can't you do it yourself? It's pretty easy.

Nicereddy (talkcontribs)

Some people aren't comfortable with Wiki syntax, I've added it to the page now.

Blackbird (talkcontribs)

Thanks dude. I just don't know structure of pages here to keep them consistent with each other. I don't want to screw anything up and face reverts.

Nicereddy (talkcontribs)

We usually don't revert articles unless someone deletes a bunch of content, generally we'd just fix any mistakes.

If you want to, check the Sample Article for a pretty good guide on the structure of articles.
