Tweaks

Use dgVoodoo2 or dxwrapper.[1]
Use the D3D8.dll for both wrappers, this improves some of the animation the game has, such as the fading animation when selecting something in the main menu, this could also help fix some texture issues.
Use a dsound.dll wrapper, such as IndirectSound.[2]
This could potentially solve a minor audio issue the game has, where its music could slightly change in pitch the longer you play the game.

Issues resolved

Game crashes on certain missions starting from Mission 42, preventing any further progress (Access violation)[3]

The game has a major bug where once you reach Mission 42 and attempt to get out of the temple, the game will crash, to resolve this, download the zip file here or here then follow the steps:
Method 1 (This method is suitable for people who wants to use their own save)
  1. Open the .exe file inside the method1 folder, what this does is install an old trial version of After the End which should allow you to play Mission 42, but the level itself will either have a black screen or it could show some but the level itself is still broken, the .dll included within the folder is a dgVoodoo D3D8 wrapper, if in case the game may still crash due to the issue in this version, the included wrapper may help on making it playable, otherwise, install the old version of After the End on any possible location
  2. Once the installation is done, open the folder of the old After the End and delete the existing "Campaign.cdf" if there is, when there is none, go to the folder of your own copy of After the End, copy your own save which is named "Campaign.cdf" and paste it to the folder of the old After the End
  3. After pasting your Mission 42 save on the folder of the old After the End, open the game and play the buggy missions all the way to Mission 50, and afterwards go back to your own copy of the game by copying your save from the old version and putting it back there.
Method 2 (pending)

I've confirmed this myself by testing the game after applying the wrapper

I've noticed this issue while playing the game within an hour or more, it can be tricky to reproduce, it doesn't affect overall gameplay.
