Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened - Remastered

From PCGamingWiki, the wiki about fixing PC games
Revision as of 02:54, 26 September 2023 by Cane (talk | contribs) (Added a performance tweak to the Essential Improvements section, added Windowed/Borderless information, added an informational note under the Field of view section. This is my first edit on this wiki and I hope I did everything right. If the windowed/borderless info should be in a separate infobox, let me know or edit it yourself. Thanks.)

This page is for the 2008 remaster. For the original release, see Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened. For the upcoming remake, see Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened (2023).

Improve performance, remove mouse/camera smoothing

Edit setup.ini
Running the game in windowed mode with vsync off improves overall performance and removes the camera acceleration/deceleration effect which causes motion sickness in some players. This is a highly recommended tweak.
  1. Open %APPDATA%\Games\<Localized sherlock holmes - the awakened - remastered>\setup.ini
  2. Set vSync = None
  3. Set windowMode = YES

Notes

At higher FOV settings, cutscenes will have minor display issues; you will occasionally see characters appear and disappear at the edges of the screen, and in some cutscenes you can see outside the map during panning shots. This bug is entirely cosmetic and the scripts run just fine.
