|vsync                      = true
|vsync notes                = Old legacy double buffered Vsync, or no-vsync is toggleable in ingame settings. Preferably, I recommend, new Scanline-Sync, a new technology that, if properly configured, removes tearing like vsync but with low input lag of no-vsync. Works on all monitors, all GPUs. https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/9wb5d5/rtss_720_new_ssync_scanline_sync_is_a_game https://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4173 guru3d.com/content-page/rivatuner.html Supports fps-capping via RTSS. Probably should work with Gsync/Freesync. Trippe-buffered vsync could be probably forced thru NVIDIA control panel.

Optionally, color blind people can change color tint offset in their NVIDIA control panel/other GPU panels. Probably should supports injection of Reshade, NVIDIA's Freestyle filters, VibranceGUI, etc.

Issues fixed

[1]

Crash on startup/black screen

Before following any of these fixes, make sure the PC meets the minimum system requirements. Otherwise, the game will refuse to run.[2]

General fixes

Launch the game via SHMCD.exe[2]
  • Optional: If there are still issues running the game, run the game in administrator mode (right click the EXE and select Run as Administrator).
Move all save files from the save game data location[2]
Install/reinstall Microsoft .NET 4 Framework[2]
Add SHMCD.exe to the antivirus exception list (if applicable)[2]

Comodo Antivirus specific

This fix is only applicable to users with Comodo Antivirus installed on their machines
Bypass false positive[2]
  1. Launch the game with the set -w**** -h**** parameters (where -w**** is the monitor width, and -h**** the monitor height).
    • Ex: For 1920x1080 resolution, use set -w1920 -h1080.
  2. Comodo will then give a warning about malicious content. In the dialog window, click Fix it myself.
  3. Another window from Comodo will then pop up, asking to either block or ignore this file. In the dialog window, click the button along the lines of Ignore this file and claim it as a false report.
  4. Relaunch the game.

SUPERQOT

A Quake mod created by the developers as an April Fools/promotional item, it adds SUPERHOT's primary game mechanic (time stops when the player is not moving) and art style to the game.

It can be downloaded from the official site.

Note that the mod comes in a self-contained package, configured with the shareware version of Quake and a modified Darkplaces engine (source code modifications are available on request). For OS X, the mod comes pre-configured for Wine via WineBottler.

The mod is not compatible with other Quake source ports.

System requirements

Windows
