Essential improvements

PCjr

The game is best experienced on an IBM PCjr. It will use a more pleasent colour palette than plain CGA, and will use the PCjr audiochip.

DOSBox

Unless you have an IBM PCjr, the easist way is to emulate a PCjr using DOSBox. This can be accomplised by setting machine=pcjr in the DOSBox config file.

Tandy 1000

The game came out before the Tandy, and while the Tandy is mostly compatible with the PCjr the game will not support it as such.

Tandy patch[1]

A patch to support the IBM PCjr mode on Tandy 1000 machines was created in 2015. This patch also allows the PCjr colour palette on EGA and VGA machines.
