Essential improvements

Run in DOSBox

To run correctly in DOSBox change timed=true to timed=false. Leave all other settings at their defaults.[4]

Game data

Save game data location

System Location
DOS <path-to-game>\*.MR1
Windows <path-to-game> (mounted in DOSBox)[Note 1]
macOS (OS X) <path-to-game> (mounted in DOSBox)[Note 1]
Steam Play (Linux) <SteamLibrary-folder>/steamapps/compatdata/358200/pfx/[Note 2]
HIGH.MR1 contains high score data, other files are player profiles.
File extensions include the episode number (1-3).
In-game settings are stored in each save rather than shared (some settings are not stored between sessions).
