HD Texture Pack
- "John P's Deus Ex Unified Texture Pack" is available for download from Mod DB. It improves textures and models for most of the game's assets and is a compilation of a variety of mods into a single installer.
GOG Installation
The GOG.com version of Invisible War is treated as the UK version. The Unified Texture Pack's installer will need to be set to UK to work.

Temporary switch to desktop or black screen when loading
- Invisible War temporarily shows the desktop or a black screen prior to the loading screen. The game still works despite this.
- This workaround is not available on Windows 8 and later.

Game hangs when loading
In some cases the game might hang when loading, not doing anything (e.g. showing a progress bar) for minutes. To fix that, in Windows 8 or later do these steps while the game is running:
- Open the task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del, select Task Manager)
- Make sure the "Details" tab is visible
- You may need to use the keyboard to navigate in the window using the Tab key if the game has hidden the mouse
- The detailed view might not be enabled and the tabs will be hidden - in that case click or select with Tab and press enter on the "More details" button at the bottom of window
- Activate the "Details" tab
- If the mouse is invisible, use the Tab key to select the tabs at the top of the window (press the Tab key enough times until a dotted rectangle appears in one of the tabs and then press the Right arrow key until the "Details" tab is visible)
- Find the "DX2Main.exe" executable
- If the mouse is invisible, use the Up and Down arrow keys to navigate the list
- Right click (or press the Menu key - the one right next to the right Window key) and select "Analyze wait chain".
- In the window that will appear, there will be the DX2Main.exe as well as some other program or programs (e.g. OneDrive.exe) that causes the game to hang.
- Close those programs and the game will continue normally.
Some of the programs that cause this are Google Chrome, Logitech SetPoint, Skype and OneDrive, but there doesn't seem to be much of a connection between them so other programs might cause it. If none of these programs are running use the method above to find the program that causes the game to hang in your computer.
Crash when installed in a Storage Space
The game will refuse to run when installed on a drive which is managed by a Storage Space on Windows 8 and later.
