Mech Merc Company is a 90's style singleplayer first-person mech combat simulator with business management elements. The game began development by solo developer, Michael Shoots, in November 2018.
The game was initially released as a limited demo with an instant action gamemode through IndieDB on July 7, 2019. It was later released commercially through Steam Early Access on May 1, 2020 with both persistent career and instant action gamemodes. The game is expected to be in early access for at least a few years in order to gather feedback from the community and develop and polish features prior to its final release. A Patreon campaign to raise funds allowing access for additional volunteer developers began in July 2022.
Modding is supported with a work-in-progress Modding SDK. Support for Steam Workshop mods was added on February 6, 2020.
