San Francisco Rush The Rock: Alcatraz Edition was released on PC, exclusively with the 3DFX Quantum Obsidian video card, and was designed to run only on that card. It can, however, run today on modern video cards through the use of some glide wrapper (plus some modified executables). It's almost a perfect conversion of the arcade game, although it suffers from some collision detection issues and minimal bugs, nothing major.
Regarding the game, the original "San Francisco Rush" was released in 1996 for arcades, it features three unique tracks that take place in San Francisco, California and eight playable vehicles. The second installment called "San Francisco Rush: The Rock" was published in 1997 (also for arcades), featured four unique tracks, including Alcatraz Island, and four new cars were introduced.
This PC version is the most complete, it contains the tracks and cars from the two deliveries mentioned above. A similar version is included in Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe Edition
