Baldur's Gate Combined Installation

The combined installation provides the ideal Baldur's Gate experience by allow one to play a single character through the entire Baldur's Gate franchise from beginning to end, with all recommended enhancements and modifications.

The rest of this article is only useful if one is only planning to play just Baldur's Gate and/or Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast. If one intends to continue their play through to Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, then consulting Baldur's Gate Combined Installation article is recommended.

Baldur's Gate Tutu

The 'Tutu' mod known as BG1Tutu allows the importing of Baldur's Gate files into the Baldur's Gate II engine.

Installation

Required Files:

  • setup_baldurs_gate.exe file from Good Old Games
  • Wine 1.3
  • Run from terminal:
$ wine ~/Downloads/setup_baldurs_gate.exe
  • Follow on screen prompt

The path can be customized during installation but the default will be:

~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/GOG.com/Baldurs Gate

To play the game use the shortcut created in the application menu under Wine.
