Savefile corruption with DOSBox
- DOSBox up to and including version 0.74-3 will corrupt save files due to an FCB issue. Instead, use DOSBox SVN or one of the DOSBox forks. If a game is already started and saved, re-install the game and start from scratch.
Problem installing and running
This game was released before HDD's where common, and the game was meant to be run from diskette. It will want to copy system files to the 360 KB diskette to make it bootable, which will fail with anything but the oldest DOS versions (3.0 or older) as there is not enough space.
In addition, the CYGNUS.COM
launcher program is buggy and should be avoided. One of the issues is that it always first changes the active drive to A:
and then tries to run the game. This will fail if the game is copied to a hard drive. The CYGNUS.COM
launcher is also very sensitive to memory layout, and will simply not work in DOSBox unless DOS is booted in DOSBox first.
