Go to the configuration files location. Edit `variables.cfg`. Add this line: `var cl_fov "120"` (change `120` to the FOV you want). Save your changes and close the file. Make the file read-only (otherwise the change will be reverted when the game exits).

High frame rate

Set FPS cap^{[citation needed]}
Go to the configuration files location. Edit `variables.cfg`. Add this line at the bottom: `var eg_maxFPS "144"` (change `144` to the cap you want). Save your changes and close the file.
