− | The Quake ( | + | The Quake (II) Engine used for this game is somewhat notorious for "ignoring" the '''Enhanced Pointer Precision''' setting, and uses the Windows acceleration curve regardless. Since the game offers no option to bypass this completely (i.e. raw input), it's necessary to apply a small registry change to take care of this acceleration. |
The [http://donewmouseaccel.blogspot.nl/2010/03/markc-windows-7-mouse-acceleration-fix.html MarkC Fix] is a small registry change that changes this acceleration curve to be linear - this simply means that this setting no longer acts as acceleration. Thus, when a game calls for this function, no acceleration will be applied to your mouse input. This also means that this fix is universal, and not specific to this game. | The [http://donewmouseaccel.blogspot.nl/2010/03/markc-windows-7-mouse-acceleration-fix.html MarkC Fix] is a small registry change that changes this acceleration curve to be linear - this simply means that this setting no longer acts as acceleration.
