Something is wrong about the current implementation for the 60/120 fps

See pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Jett:_The_Far_Shore#Video. "60 FPSand 120+ FPS"

There's a space missing between "FPS" & "and". :) -Bowi (talk) 02:04, 10 November 2022 (UTC)

Proposal for a "No motion blur" row

3
Dandelion Sprout (talkcontribs)

I propose a new row for `|no motion blur =` or something along those lines, since the ability to remove motion blur has been a make or break for many potential game buyers for some years now (The controversies around Crash Bandicoot PC games were plentiful and with high temperature due to this).

In the example below, "always on" would mean there's no motion blur to begin with, "true" would mean there's settings to turn motion blur off, "false" would mean the motion blur cannot be turned off, and "hackable" would mean there's quirky ways to force the removal of motion blur.

<!-- No motion blur -->
{{#ifeq: {{{no motion blur|}}}{{{no motion blue notes|}}} | unknown ||
	<tr class="template-infotable-body table-settings-video-body-row">
		<th scope="row" class="table-settings-video-body-parameter">No motion blur<abbr>Whether motion blur can be turned off completely.</abbr></th>
		<td class="table-settings-video-body-rating">{{Tickcross|{{{no motion blur|}}}||{{{no motion blur notes|}}}}}</td>
		<td colspan="2" class="table-settings-video-body-notes">{{{no motion blur notes|}}}</td>
	</tr>
}}

I understand why you would prefer a negative statement/feature, as it allows "always on" to be the "best" from the perspective of a user who dislike motion blur, though it would go against all other existing rows we have, so I don't think that's a good idea.

I've sadly forgotten the details but I believe a motion blur row have been discussed in the past but dismissed for various reasons.

Baronsmoki (talkcontribs)

I agree with Aemony that if we had a row about motion blur, it should be the affirmative "motion blur" instead of the negative "motion blur" to avoid confusion.

Mouse acceleration is generally seen as undesirable, but we still list that as the affirmative "mouse acceleration", not "no mouse acceleration".

add ray tracing settings

we should add ray tracing settings and ray tracing glossary page.

Aemony (talkcontribs)

Parameters concerning ray tracing have now been added, although a glossary page have not yet been created for it.

This was a surprise -- the underlying templates that actually assign property values based on the parameters did not actually do so for 'always on' states.

So while the game page itself was properly filled out and the list page was correctly set up, the missing piece in the middle was that, well... No page actually got the 'always on' value set for any property... Whoops!

It has now been fixed and Teardown appears in the list as well. Thanks for making me aware of it. 👍

Most games these days have depth of field so I think it should be added to this template.
