Confirmed, the Demo (MP and SP) will not work on a native windows installation but will work on Linux and WINE using faketime (using the specific date) and using a registry Direct3D video memory cap and MESA GL 4.5 (additionally DirectInput relative mode is required for the mouse to function properly for virtual machines)
