Topic on Talk:Final Fantasy XIII

Game videos format has been "deciphered".
Now I see 2 possible ways to achieve blu-ray quality:

  • Convert PS3 videos to bink (quality degradation expected)
  • Hack the game to make it read PS3's H.264 and ATRAC codecs (libavcodec being the library of choice probably)

Bink's compression level is highly configurable (1080p instead of 720p would also really help), so that shouldn't be a big problem. Bink 2 isn't available in the RAD Video Tools but the topics you linked to indicate that the game will also accept videos in Bink 1 format.

Sure, but you are still compressing again an already lossy compressed video.
Doable, but not optimal

Hopefully they come up with some good workarounds.

I've yet to see any good encodes with bink ever. But hopefully that can change
