Tafferpatcher / Patch V1.19

Tafferpatcher installs Patch V1.19 which improves compatibility on modern systems. It also includes many optional improvements.

Video settings

Field of view (FOV)

Install Tafferpatcher and set the resolution you want in-game. If your FOV is not detected correctly edit cam_ext.cfg in the install folder and change ;fov 90 to fov ##, replacing ## with the FOV you want. Save your changes and relaunch the game.

Windowed

Install Tafferpatcher, then edit cam_ext.cfg in the install folder and change ;force_windowed to force_windowed. Save your changes and set your chosen resolution in-game.

Borderless fullscreen windowed

Install Tafferpatcher, then edit cam_ext.cfg in the install folder and change ;force_windowed to force_windowed. Save your changes and set the resolution in-game to the same as your desktop resolution.

Vertical sync (Vsync)

Install Tafferpatcher. This enables Vsync. To use Tafferpatcher without Vsync, edit cam_ext.cfg in the install folder and change ;vsync_mode 0 to ;vsync_mode 0

Audio settings

EAX support

Thief II features enhanced 3D sound effects that originally required a Creative sound card with special EAX drivers. To use EAX effects on modern systems, do the following:
