Issues fixed
Pvp.Net Patcher Kernel Is Not Responding Keeps Popping Up
Attempting to run League of Legends results in a "Pvp.Net Patcher Kernel Is Not Responding" dialog popping up. Running the program in "Administrator Mode" once should fix the issue. To do so, right click on the shortcut and select the "Run as administrator" option from the drop down menu.
Client Doesn't Open
This issue can occur when clicking to launch the client from the updater. The "League of Legends" emblem will flash a few times, which isn't unusual, but then the client itself will not open. A guide to fixing this bug can be found on the official forums, however the final step, completely clearing League of Legends and all programs associated with it from the computer and doing a re-install from scratch, is the only certain fix.
Grayed Out Launch Button On League Of Legends Patcher
This issue occurs occasionally after an update. On the top right the server status will also be "Unavailable". To fix it click on the gray'd out "Launch" button and slowly type "thereisnourflevel".
Disconnect Untargetable Towers/Inhibitors/Minions/Champions
This issue can occur after disconnecting and reconnecting to a game in progress. Turrets or inhibitors which have been destroyed during your disconnect period will appear to still be there, and the next turret/inhibitor along will be untargetable. The only known way to solution to this is to disconnect manually and reconnect to the game.
Graphics Card Overheating
- League of Legends has no frame rate cap so running it with Vsync disabled may lead to GPU overheating. Ensure you play with Vsync and/or the frame rate cap enabled in-game.
HUD Resetting
- This issue causes the HUD sizing to reset with each game. This issue can be fixed with the following steps:

Mouse Lag/General Mouse Problems
This issue occurs primarily when in spectator mode, and can sometimes be fixed by Alt+Tab'ing in and out. Alternatively, logging out and logging back in will solve this issue.
Post-game Statistics Do Not Load
Sometimes after finishing a game, win or lose, the post-game statistics page will not load and the client will shut down. This is due to a problem with your computer's network firewall. If you're having this problem you may also notice that your client has trouble connecting to PVP.net every so often. Though it is not a permanent solve, you can go in to your antivirus software and temporarily disable your network threat protection. This issue is especially prevalent with users who have Symantec Endpoint Protection.
Space Bar Autocentre Doesn't Work
There is a bug wherein the space bar will randomly stop auto-centering back on the player's champion. Alt-Tabbing doesn't seem to immediately fix this problem, but it usually doesn't persist for long enough to become a major nuisance in-game. Going to Keybinds and rebinding auto locking usually fixes the problem.
Game Crashes and Returns to Launcher Repeatedly
Sometimes, after Champion Select has completed the game may hang on a black screen and crash. Attempting to reconnect will crash the game again. To fix this issue, go to the folder where League of Legends is installed and type 'logitech' into the search bar. Delete all instances of LogitechLed.dll and LogitechGkey.dll that appear. (This will disable Logitech features such as "Game Controlled Illumination" & in-game G-key functionality.)
To prevent future instancace of this crash you can disable Logitech support by adding the line "LogitechSupport=0" to the [General] section of the file "game.cfg" located at "C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\Config\". The file "game.cfg" can be opened with any text editor.[1]
Unable to Use Abilities or Hotkeys
Upon loading game, abilities, summoner spells, and items will not activate when the corresponding key is pressed. It is as though the button press is not registering. Self-casting will work for some abilities, as well as using modifiers such as ctrl + key. This problem is fixed by exiting the game and client (as well as closing the process if necessary) and restarting the game.
Frequent disconnects from PvP.net
At the moment this can only be solved by disabling the Windows IP Helper Service. To do so start services.msc rightclick the service and select stop. Note that this might keep other applications relying on that service to work properly.
Issues unresolved
Cursor corruption on AMD GPUs
- There has been a bug in the drivers of AMD's GPUs for years where the cursor may corrupt over time and turn into a vertical line that looks somewhat similar to a comb or into a white square. There is no solution besides restarting your computer or enabling a software cursor, which includes Windows' pointer trails setting.
RADS Error
The RADS Error dialog will appear after a long start up time for the LOL Launcher. This error is sometimes caused by system administrators blocking League of Legends and similar programs from accessing the connection to the internet. This error is common when using free school or workplace internet. If this is the case, there is no way to solve this error (aside from asking the system administrator). Sometimes however the cause is unknown and can be solved by running League of Legends in "Administrator Mode".To run League of Legends in "Administrator Mode", right click on the shortcut and select the "Run as administrator" option from the drop down menu.
