A re-release of the game has been confirmed for 2012.[1] The PC re-release has been confirmed to be exclusive for the SQUARE ENIX Store only.
New features include:[2]
- "Character Booster" purchasable, which increases HP, MP and Gil levels to maximum
- Cloud save game support
- Online profile and achievements.

Issues
General Graphical Issues
There can be several graphical issues and artifacts when trying to play FF7 on current hardware, especially when you have an Nvidia card. Aali of the qhimm.com forums has created a custom graphics driver that works with both FF7 and FF8 which ends up fixing most issues you may encounter. You can get the latest version of it here.
