The main menu (and anything associated with that area) has a generally poor frame rate. It is most likely caused by the display of the menu or overlay.
Crash after mission start (after cutscene) while using custom resolution set by registry edit
In game menu go to video setings (by doing so the resolution will be reset to default - thats the point), start new mission, and right after cutscene save game. Exit game, set your custom resolution by editing registry entry again, start the game, load the save. No permanent solution for this game crash.
