Age of Empires patch 1.0c
The latest patch for Age of Empires is 1.0c.

Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome patch 1.0a
The latest patch for Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome is 1.0a.
- Age of Empires: Rise of Rome 1.0a suffers from a serious bug in saved games. If a projectile (arrow from archers, ships, towers, siege weapons) is "flying" through the air while saving a game, the saved game becomes corrupted; loading it will crash the game.
Skip introduction videos
The introduction videos can be skipped by adding a space and NoStartup
to the end of the game's shortcut.[1]

Issues fixed
Game uses weird colors
Playing the game on a modern version of Windows may cause it to use weird colors. Repetitive red and purple specks in water and marsh areas are the common issue. This can be fixed by downloading and using DirectDrawFix.
