Best version

The version titled Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition is the best version because it includes both the DOS Atomic Edition as well as an updated version that includes the game's expansion packs.

Improvements

EDuke32 source port

EDuke32 is a modern source port and map editor for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. It features many improvements including higher resolutions, widescreen/multi-monitor support, and optional support for high resolution textures and models.

High Resolution Pack

The High Resolution Pack for EDuke32 adds high resolution textures and 3D models (in place of the 2D sprites used by the original game).

YANG multiplayer

YANG is an easy to use program for hosting multiplayer matches using EDuke32 or another source port.
