Field of view (FOV)

Custom FOV[1]
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open StyxGame.ini.
  3. Add the following binds at the bottom.
Bindings=(Name="F3",Command="FOV 120",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)
Bindings=(Name="F4",Command="FOV 125",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)
  1. Press F3 or F4 in game for higher FOV.

Frame rate (FPS)

Change bSmoothFramerate[citation needed]
  1. Locate %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Styx\StyxGame\Config\StyxEngine.ini and open the file with a text editor.
  2. Find bSmoothFrameRate and change it from TRUE to FALSE.
Change MaxSmoothedFrameRate[citation needed]
  1. Locate %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Styx\StyxGame\Config\StyxEngine.ini and open the file with a text editor.
  2. Find MaxSmoothedFrameRate and change it from 62 to the desired value.

Notes

Increasing the existing frame rate value breaks the in-game physics. Ennemies corpses may jump and fly once murdered or put on the ground. Above 142 FPS, the bodies flies. Above 62 FPS, the bodies jumps. Activating bSmoothFrameRate with a limit of 62 FPS seems to be the optimal values.

SMAA

SMAA Anti-Aliasing with SweetFX[citation needed]
32-bit users should use Win32 folder. 64-bit users should use Win64 folder and DLL's from "x64" folder
  1. Download custom SweetFX
  2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Styx\Binaries, extract archive contents to either Win32 or Win64
