Incompatibility with Conexant High-Definition SmartAudio 221 sound card

The Conexant High-Definition SmartAudio 221 sound card will not work with this game; it needs to be disabled.[1]

Issues fixed

Game won't run with "Program will be terminated" error

Set compatibility mode[citation needed]
  1. Go to the installation folder.
  2. Right-click soldiers.exe and choose Properties.
  3. On the Compatibility tab set "Windows 2000" "Windows XP SP2" or "Windows XP SP3".
  4. Click OK to apply the change.
