Issues fixed
Game won't start / MFPlat.dll error fix
- The MFPlat.dll error occurs when you don't have a certain Media Feature pack for your windows version, most notably Windows N versions
Significant performance loss during when using Fulton or helicopter
FXAA tied to effects post processing level
- By default, you cannot disable FXAA while using Extra High post processing.
Remove FPS Cap (Fixes Adaptive V-Sync)
- By default, enabling Adaptive V-Sync in the driver control panel will disable V-Sync entirely on a 60Hz display.
- Navigate to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<your_steam_id>\287700\local
- Open
TPP_GRAPHICS_CONFIG
in the text editor of your choosing.
- Change the line
"framerate_control" : "Auto",
to "framerate_control" : "Variable",
and save the file.
This removes the built-in framerate cap. Please note that if you make any changes to the graphics options in-game, this preference will be reset.
Now there is apparently some physics/game logic tied into the framerate, so I would not suggest running the game above 60 FPS.
However the default framerate cap is not "60" but "59.9" which will cause NVIDIA's Adaptive V-Sync feature to disable V-Sync entirely on a 60Hz monitor so that the game is constantly tearing.
Replacing the built-in V-Sync and FPS cap with Adaptive V-Sync in the NVIDIA Control Panel allows the feature to work correctly: only tearing if the framerate drops below 60 FPS, rather than constantly tearing.
