StarForce Protection Technology

Install FrontLine Drivers Update Tool
  1. Download StarForce Protection Update Tool SFUPDATE.
  2. Unpack the archive and save the sfdrvup.exe file to some folder on the hard disk.
  3. Run sfdrvup.exe and follow the displayed instructions
  4. When the computer turns on, run game with Run as administrator

Note

If you want to delete all the StarForce Protection components on the system:
  1. Download StarForce Protection Removal Tool SFREMOVE.
  2. Unpack the archive and save the sfdrvrem.exe file to some folder on the hard disk.
  3. Run sfdrvrem.exe and follow the displayed instructions.

Widescreen Resolution Method 1

Widescreen Fix with HxD
  1. Run KOTT2.exe
  2. Go to the Video Mode and select 640x480 resolution.
  3. Open KOTT2.exe with a hex editor such as HxD.
  4. Press Ctrl+⇧ Shift+M and select KOTT2.exe.
  5. Press Ctrl+F and set Datatype option to Hex-values.
  6. Search for 80 02 00 00 E0 01 00 00 15 and click OK.
  7. There will be two same hex values:
    • 80 02 00 00 E0 01 00 00 15
    • 80 02 00 00 E0 01 00 00 15
  8. Select First Hex Value and replace the 80 02 00 00 E0 01 value with:
    • 00050000D002 for 1280x720
    • 000500000003 for 1280x768
    • 000500002003 for 1280x800
    • 000500000004 for 1280x1024
    • 560500000003 for 1366x768
    • A00500008403 for 1440x900

  1. Run KOTT2.exe
  2. Go to the Video Mode tab and select 640x480 resolution.
  3. Open KOTT2.exe with Cheat Engine here.
  4. Press on the top Flashing Monitor button and select KOTT2.exe.
  5. On the Value Type change 4 Bytes to Grouped
  6. Type 4:640 4:480 in the text field, then press First Scan button
  7. There will more Address. You select: BD2C (last letters and numbers is main) Example: 0356BD2C 0356BD30
  8. Then you can change the values of 640 and 480 to the values you want
  9. Finally Return the Game
