Resolution limit

High resolutions are available in the video options, but the game uses DirectX 7 which has a 2048x2048 resolution limit and it will fail to initialize.
Use LegacyD3DResolutionHack[2]
  1. Download LegacyD3DResolutionHack_MSVC6.zip.
  2. Extract the archive.
  3. Copy and paste d3dim.dll and d3dim700.dll to the installation folder.

Issues fixed

Game exits to desktop

When launching the game or when starting a level the game exits to desktop and is minimized.
Disable desktop composition[1]
  1. Right click the game shortcut and select Properties.
  2. In the Compatibility tab select Disable desktop composition.
  3. Click Apply and OK.
