Issues unresolved

Random low sound volume

Sometimes during gameplay after the commander gives new mission instructions the music and sound effects volume stays low.
Quick Save and Quick Load the game to reset the sound volume levels[5]

Missing lighting

If Shader Quality is set on Low or High, surfaces will not be lit properly.[citation needed]
Change Shader Quality to Medium[citation needed]

Issues fixed

Corrupted graphics on AMD/ATI graphics cards

Install WineD3D[6]
  1. Download WineD3D and extract it (confirmed working with version 1.7.51).
  2. Select files d3d9.dll, libwine.dll, wined3d.dll and copy them.
  3. Go to the installation folder and paste the files in there.

Notes

Forcing anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing in the GPU control panel may not work.[5]

Game jumps to menu after level "Offensive"

Change level name[7]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\ST\.
    • If your release of the game is made of packed files, find a file Level_Brainbug.slak and change its name to Level_BrainBug.slak
    • If your release of the game is made of extracted files find a folder Level_Brainbug and change its name to Level_BrainBug
  2. Finish the "Offensive" level and you should end up in final level of the game.

Notes

Some reports suggest that the Russian release of the game doesn't contain the BrainBug level.
