Use the dgVoodoo2 wrapper
|
- Download dgVoodoo2
- Copy dgVoodooCpl.exe and the contents of the MS folder into the
<path-to-game> folder
- Rename midtown.exe to MidtownMadness.exe
- If you have a Nvidia card you must set "Output API" to "Direct3D 12 (feature level 12.0) in dgVoodooCpl.exe or you will encounter a driver conflict that gives terrible performance.
- Open1560 uses an OpenGL render that's incompatible with dgVoodoo. The last dgVoodoo compatible version is OpenMM1.

CD music does not resume after pause
Use CDAudio proxy
|
CDAudio proxy will fix this, place its files in <path-to-game> and rip music to track02.ogg, track03.ogg, etc and place it in a folder named MUSIC in <path-to-game>
- This does not eliminate the need to have the CD inserted. Even with a no-cd crack, Midtown Madness will still check for a CD drive before deciding to play music.
|
Text hard to see
Disable font smoothing
|
You must disable font smoothing in Windows. Windows 10 does this by default for midtown.exe, but this is incompatible with dgVoodoo.

Unable to run on Linux via Wine
Tire smoke not appearing
Enable smoke

- Download Midtown Madness Revisited from here: http://www.mmarchive.com/file_details.php?file_id=2361
- Create a copy of your game folder and apply the patch to it
- Rename the patched midtown.exe to MidtownMadness.exe and place it in your original game folder
- This is only necessary if you don't want any of the other changes MM Revisited makes. However it's still necessary to rename the patched midtown.exe to MidtownMadness.exe for dgvoodoo to work with it.
