- (Windows) Machinarium's saves are stored in the Flash cache so will be removed by tools such as CCleaner; disable Flash file deletion to avoid this.[2]
- (Windows) Amanita Design also released their own tool to extract save-files.[3]
- This game does not follow the XDG Base Directory Specification on Linux.
