The HORI Fighting Stick Alpha is an arcade game controller released by Hori on February 27, 2021.
Compared to its predecessor, the Alpha has a large chassis that can be opened by the user for maintenance. It has Hori's own Hayabusa joystick with the unique V-shaped cam housing design and the short and quick-to-actuate Hayabusa buttons. Located on the top section of the chassis are the auxiliary buttons, as well as key lock and mode switch buttons. The design on the face of the controller is swappable by opening up the frame and replacing the art print with another. There's a 3.5mm audio jack on the left side for audio passthrough.
There are two, platform-specific models that were made available. The Xbox-compatible model is the first model to be released. The PlayStation version was originally released as a collaboration model for the game Guilty Gear Strive on August 11, 2021, before the regular version was released on June 23, 2022. Only the Xbox-compatible model has a breakaway cable.
On PC, both versions of the Alpha are native XInput devices when set to a specific mode (mode 2 on the Xbox-compatible model and PC mode on the PlayStation-compatible model). The touchpad on the PlayStation-compatible model cannot be used while in PC mode.
