List of controllers that use DE-9 connectors

From PCGamingWiki, the wiki about fixing PC games

This is an in-progress automated list of PC controllers that are believed to use 9-pin DE-9 (also known as Atari joystick port) connectivity sockets.

Although the connectors fit with ease into PC serial ports (which were near-universal on 90's PCs, and can be added to modern desktop PCs with PCIe cards), plugging a DE-9 controller into a Serial port is considered a pretty bad idea at best[1] due to the various controllers and DE-9 systems using different pins for different purposes,[2] often not even agreeing on which pin to use for power supply.[3]

As a result, "Sega Genesis → USB", "Atari → USB", or "Commodore → PC" adapters are more reliable methods to use these controllers on PC. Some generic DE-9→PC adapters also exist.
