GoldSrc Package 2.2: [1]. Appears to revert the game version of the Steam releases to the original CD versions. Half-Live with OpenAL (EFX, Surround, and HRTF): [2][3]. Alternative OpenAL mod that doesn’t change the game engine. Single player only.

The golden release, imo, for me would be build ~5941, whose searching I failed.

Fresh enough to support steampipe, old enough not to drop every legacy thing and the kitchen sink.
