Force custom resolutions in borderless window mode

Set Fullscreen to Off in the game, then close it. Download the latest version of Special K (archive labeled SpecialK_x_y_zz.7z). Extract the files from the archive to <path-to-game>. Go to <path-to-game>. Rename SpecialK32.dll to d3d9.dll and SpecialK32.pdb to d3d9.pdb. Launch the game once to allow the configuration file of Special K to be created. Close the game through the main menu. Open the newly created d3d9.ini. Scroll down to [Window.System]. Change Borderless and Center to true. On multi-monitor setups, change ConfineCursor to true as well to restrict the mouse cursor to the window of the game. Change OverrideRes to the resolution of the monitor (e.g. OverrideRes=2560x1440). Launch the game. Notes Press Ctrl+⇧ Shift+O in-game to hide the On-Screen Display of Special K. Only works in windowed mode.

Fullscreen mode defaults to 60 Hz, even if the screen refresh rate is set higher than that.

Install Special K by following the Special K Unofficial Guide. Start the game once and close it to allow the configuration file of Special K to be created. Open <path-to-game>\d3d9.ini or %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\Profiles\LoK.exe\SpecialK.ini depending on the installation method you used. Change RefreshRate=-1 to RefreshRate=0 under [Render.FrameRate].
