Any way to save game while running the game DRM-free on Steam ?

I've followed the steps to run the game DRM-free. But then in-game, I can't save anything : a message is shown "you are not signed into steam, you will not be able to save game or your profile".

Is there any way to run DRM-free and being able to save game at the same time ?

Anyway to disable debug rendering text in upper left after beta patch?

Anyone know? Even on Windows 7, game won't start a new game without this patch, but then there's the annoying rendering stats in the upper left.

CTRL+tilde (to open console), then "debug_displays" toggles it on and off.
