Serious Sam 3: BFE (Before First Encounter) is a game in Serious Sam series.

Version Differences

Serious Sam 3: BFE is a Steamworks title with a "Serious Digital" version also released which contains:

Problems & Bugs

Keyboard/mouse not working

Some background programs like antivirus (specifically ZoneAlarm and F-Secure) are known to cause this.

Here's a quick fix:

  • Open the console (F1 key)
  • Type in inp_bRawInput=0

Now everything expect mouse wheel will work. This is a known bug caused by the latest patch.

Piracy

Pirated copies of the game have an immortal pink scorpion to harass the player until the player dies[1].

Mods

To use your installed mods, you must launch the moddable version of the game from your Steam library. While in the moddable version of the game, custom files and maps are allowed, but achievements and leaderboards are disabled.


Serious Zone hosts a wide variety mods[2] and maps [3] for Serious Sam 3: BFE, in addition to other games in the series.


No Reloading

This mod removes the reloading on every gun except for the double-barreled shotgun (due to the unique nature of the weapon and its reloading animations). The download link can be found here[4].


No More Hitscan Arachnoids

This mod removes the hitscan chainguns of the Arachnoids in the game and replaces their attacks with dodgeable lasers. The mod can be downloaded here.[5]Template:CitadelFile and the original thread is located here[6].
