Issues And Fixes

Game won't launch on AMD graphics cards, still shows up in task manager

Go to the Max Payne 2 launcher (MaxPayne2.exe) and set it to run in Windows 98/Windows Me compatibility mode. This will make the launcher work.

Otherwise this issue could be due to later versions of the Catalyst Control Center drivers for AMD cards. To fix this, roll back CCC to 12.6. You can download previous drivers from http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/previous/Pages/radeonaiw_vista64.aspx

Instructions

Now save the file and change the extension from ".txt" to ".reg". Double click the file, hit "Yes". Now right click the game executable and click "Run with CPU-0 Affinity".

What this reg file does? It simply set the executable to just run on ONE core.
