The file prof.sav contains over-all game progress.
The file continue.sav is only generated when pressing 'Save & Quit'.
The file settings.ini contains all settings. On Windows, this file is found in the installation path.
Save games are full cross-platform.[1]
This game follows the XDG Base Directory Specification on Linux.

Quicksaving

It is possible to 'quicksave' by saving and quitting, and then making manual backup copies of the continue.sav file, and restoring them when one dies.

Widescreen resolution

Allows for either letter-boxing to 16:9 or stretching.
The game is designed for the resolution of 1280x720 and is not meant to work in lower resolutions. A later released patch has added experimental support for scaling the game to fit smaller resolutions.[2] This however requires a recent enough graphics card with support for the relevant features.
