Aspect ratio

The game was meant to be played at a 4:3 aspect ratio. To play it on any other aspect ratio, use a DX3D injector, which can be found here (or here). Extract the files to the same folder as BGE.exe and edit the included .ini file to achieve your desired resolution. Don't forget to set the game's resolution to the same values as you did in the .ini, failing to do so will result in resolution glitches in most cases. Because the game is internally rendered in a 16:9.4 aspect ratio instead of 16:9, you will see some very small borders on both sides of the game when playing in 16:9. If you get an error prompt before launching, try installing the DX3D redists included in the fix. (All credit goes to gog.com forum user Idario for writing this fix.)

Better FPS

Launch SettingsApplication.exe and lower the amount of anti-aliasing. Setting it to max results in 8x SSAA, which is completely unnecessary and quite demanding for older hardware.

Audio Video Sync

If you are having problems with the sound not syncing up with the picture, go launch SettingsApplication.exe, go to "Sound Settings" and choose your Sound Card.

Using a monitor with a native refresh rate above 60Hz may also lead to sync issues. To correct this, change your refresh rate to 60Hz or use an fps limiting program such as Dxtory to set max fps to 60.
