Save Game Location
As of 23rd November 2012 Ubisoft have once again changed their software and appear to have MOVED the folder again, and appear to have removed the ability to save your progress offline. You can only store your progress on the cloud sotrage system now.
When LAUNCHING the game, if cloud-storage is OFF, then the saves are loaded from:
DRM
Assassin's Creed II uses Ubisoft's Uplay DRM. Formerly, an always-on internet connection was required to play the game. In a later patch, an internet connection is still required to launch the game, but is no longer required throughout play.
Issues and Fixes
Wireless Xbox360 Controller Fix
The wireless 360 controller works poorly on the default settings and does not allow you full control over rebinding commands to its buttons. Search for fan-made fix "acii_wireless_360_fix_by_khemitude" and extract its contents to the folder containing the .exe for the game and the new default controller settings will mimic that of the actual Xbox 360's controls.
Note: The file is no longer available. There are mirrors on the last page of the thread, as well as an alternative program called x360ce.
Odd Lighting Bug
Odd lighting bug that causes lights to shine through walls and other objects. This issue is cause by the nVidia Control Panel forcing graphical settings on. A fix to this is to enter the NVIDIA Control Panel select "Adjust image settings with preview" option and then select the "Let the 3D application decide". This should fix the lights shining through everything.
Game Freeze When Given Hidden Blade
You must press "2" to select the weapon to continue the cut-scene, default mapped keys do not work as they should.
