Key points
- This is an updated and localized version of "Ys I & II Chronicles". The Japanese PC version was straight port from the PSP version of "Ys I & II Chronicles" which in turn was a port from earlier PC release, "Ys I & II Complete". This in turn was an updated version of two earlier Windows-based remakes, "Ys I Eternal" and "Ys II Eternal".
- While the Japanese PC version of Chronicles included the features added to the PSP version (such as the ability to select between PC-8801, Complete and entirely new version of soundtrack), it also suffered from downgraded visual presentation (based directly on PSP version) when compared to the earlier Windows versions. The localized version used Chronicles as basis while having various improvements such as better graphical options - including ability to use decorative frame similar to the earlier Eternal and Complete versions.
