B.B. Studio is a Japanese video game development company and is a subsidiary company of Bandai Namco Entertainment.
It was originally existed as two separate companines. Bandai Entertainment Company (BEC for short) and Banpresoft.
BEC is a joint venture between Bandai and Human Entertainment, and is mainly developing licensed video games for Bandai. Bandai took full control of BEC following Human Entertainment's bankruptcy in 2000.
Banpresoft, originally Banpre Kikaku prior to the name change in 1997, is a video game division of the video game publisher Banpresto, and is best known as the developer for the Super Robot Wars series since the Super Robot Wars Alpha series. Banpresto would later merged with Bandai Namco Games in 2007, while Banpresoft being part of the new parent company.
In 2011, Bandai Namco Holdings merged BEC and Banpresoft and formed B.B. Studio.
Today, B.B. Studio, just like Banpresoft prior to the merger, is best known of developing the Super Robot Wars games since the company's foundation in 2011.
