Spore is a 2008 Windows and Mac multi-genre (God game, life simulation, real-time strategy) game. Spore is known for having released with a 3-limit activation SecuROM DRM that caused public outrage. This DRM has been stripped for the Steam release which uses Steam's standard DRM.

Runtime Error R6025
In some instances when trying to run Spore it will crash-to-desktop with a 'Runtime Error R6025'. This is caused by corrupted files in the user's game files. The corrupted file(s) will need to be deleted; this will remove your to-date progress. To save your data it is recommended the SPORE folder in %APPDATA%
be renamed (e.g. SPORE_OLD) then run the game. Now individually add each element back into the SPORE folder then checked to see if the game runs. Anything that causes the game to stop loading is corrupted and should be deleted.
