The latest patch for the retail version is the Retail 1.3 Patch. Digital distribution versions already include this patch.
Skip opening logo
To skip the opening logo download the replacement ascaron.bik and put it in the video\Movies\Eng folder where Darkstar One is installed, replacing the existing file.

Controller support
Controllers are natively supported, including rumble if available. Enable the controller under Gameplay, then choose the controller from the drop-down list in Controls and bind it appropriately (to invert an axis click the red rectangle beside it). You can also enable rumble here if your controller supports it.

Ship throttle is backwards
If your controller's throttle is detected the wrong way around (e.g. putting it at the full speed position makes the ship stop instead) invert the "Throttle" axis.
Invert axis
To invert a controller axis left click the red rectangle to the right of the axis (there is no confirmation of the change). This works for all axes. To reverse the change simply click the rectangle again.
Mouse-based space flight uses the mouse as a cursor so neither axis can be inverted in-game. You can override this with a third-party tool but note that this will invert the mouse everywhere, not just during flight.
