From PCGamingWiki, the wiki about fixing PC games

Hi,

I'm someone who has been gaming for years and has played all kinds of video-games, crossing all kinds of genres. Started out, as kid, playing Nintendo's Game-Boy Color, then went on to own a PlayStation 2, a PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii and finally a Desktop with gaming in mind. I'm passionate about programming and, therefore, video-game modding, experimentation with settings and optimization, and tweaking in general is a natural hobby.

I've always been of a "patient gamer" mindset, being frugal and preferring to by games, years later, on a heavy discount, with all the bug fixes and patches released, a collection of community mods available to enhance them, special editions with all the DLCs on the market, etc. Meanwhile I content myself with games 3, 4 or more years old, that make the best use of not so modern hardware. It's perfect scenario for a PC gamer.

PC Gaming satisfies this very well, presenting me with many giveaways and freebies, mainly divulged in r/GameDealsFree subreddit. This together with catching great, historical deals on sites like "IsThereAnyDeal" means I barely spent any money at all on games. The PC platform also gives me the confidence and safety of preservation-ism via Emulation (for games from other consoles) or other more legally dubious ways, that are still a good last resort, in case of a game becoming abandon-ware or the official version having become an inferior by whichever reason (e.g. troublesome DRM).

Meanwhile, with all of those games and my knack for collection-ism, completion-ism and some achievement hunting, I gather all my gaming library on Playnite, making much easier to manage all of the platforms that I use (Steam, GOG, EA App, Ubisoft Connect, Rockstar Games Launcher, Battle.net, XBox App, etc.).
